Widely employed by ship managers and owners, PAL e3 is a well-known marine enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that has proven to be multi-functional and extremely beneficial. This web-based ERP differentiates itself by being easy to implement, learn and maintain, given the fact that it is intuitive and highly customizable. Specifically built to cater to the marine industry, it incorporates 18 different modules to address the different components of managing vessels.
As the central module surrounding all PAL e3 applications, the Admin module is where roles are defined and rights are assigned to the authorized personnel. The addition of ERP modules are also done here, as well as the creation of new user accounts and handling of audit reports.
This module mainly tackles the management of the crew on board and ashore, including things like contracts, complaints, medical insurance and new applicant data. A visual planner is also used for the assignment of duties to ensure that everyone is aware of their roles.
Vessels will have to handle multiple shipments and it is important to have the Accounts module put in place as it is a multi-user, multi-company and multi-currency business accounting software used for budgeting. Invoices, bank transactions and financial records are all included in this module.
Made to integrate with Accounts module, Payroll allows ship managers to do payroll calculation that can be tweaked according to certain requirements and thereafter, generate pay-slips.
To ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of this ship management software, training is provided for both onboard and off-shore staff via audio and video sessions to educate the crew on how to fully utilize all the available modules.
